A boat that floats!

The Giraffes reading group read a story this week called 'Make a boat that floats' and then we got to make one, it was so much fun!

We worked with one of our teacher aides to make them after we read her the story.

We made sure we had all the equipment and then we made them. After we did that we filled some containers with water and went outside to test them.

Blow really hard to make your boat move!

Fruit Kebabs

Last term we made delicious fruit kebabs for our writing experience, they were really yummy!

We had to write a recount about how we made them and what we put on them. Below are some of our recounts.

The Delicious Fruit Kebabs

On Monday Room 14 and Room 15 made fruit kebabs at school.
First we had to wash our hands.
Next we sat on the mat and we had to listen to the teacher.
After that we went to the blue table we listened to the teacher.
Then we made 4 kebabs. I put marshmellows and apples.
Last we got to eat 2.
My favourite part was putting the marshmellows on because they were squishy.

Bubbles!

Today for writing Miss Brown took us outside to blow some bubbles! We had an awesome time using all sorts of different equipment to blow the bubbles.

When we came inside we made a brainstorm of everything we did out there and even got to describe what the bubbles looked like and even what they tasted like!

Miss Brown can't wait to read and hear our recounts about this experience!

Student of the Week

Last week was our very first assembly of the term! We had lots of new students to welcome and we had a student from Room 14 receive Student of the Week.

It's an award that Mr Melrose gives out to students who have been good learners and are kind and helpful to others.

Room 14 was pretty excited because it was someone from our class... Alfred! He got up to get his certificate for being an amazing member of our class, he helps the other students and Miss Brown and is always happy! He tries really hard with all his school work which is something that we thought was awesome!

He got a bag of prizes too, congratulations Alfred, you deserved it!

First Week Activities

It was a busy first week in Room 14 at Hampstead School this year. We had to all get to know each other, welcome new faces and organise our groups and our books... the week just flew by!

We were so busy Miss Brown only got a to take a couple of photos of us, check out what we got up to...

We are learning to play Everybody Is In tag

We learnt really quickly how to play the game, Miss Brown was impressed.

We were learning to make sets in Maths

I wonder what is the same in this set?

What could be different in this set?

We used all sorts of things to make sets.
