Japanese Student Visit

Last Friday we sat in the hall and we sang some songs. They were 'We don't care' and 'Happy'. By Brock



Then the Japanese students sang us a song from Big Hero 6 and did a dance. By Hayden

We played games and we had a pretend gun. We had to try and hit the balloons with a rubber band. By Charlotte

The Expolding Milk Experiment

On Monday Room 14 made exploding milk. We put milk in a container and some food colouring and we dipped it into the milk. By Kelly 



Then we dipped dishwashing liquid into the milk and the milk moved and made different shapes. By Duncan 



Next we put vinegar and baking soda into the milk. Then it rose up and the milk got bubbly. By Kaha



It looked like people swimming in the swimming pool. By Maa

We poured it into each containers and it bubbled up more. By Kalotia 



Kymani-Cruz and the Taiaha Performance

Below is a blog post about the Kahurangi Dance group coming to perform at our school.

Kahurangi Dance Show

On Tuesday the whole school went in the hall to see the Kahurangi dance show. The people that were there were two girls and three boys. By Kymani-Cruz












The people on the stage performed dances to the whole school. They showed us the Cook Islands dance. By Chanelle




They also did a NZ dance and a Samoan dance and a dance from Hawaii. By Amelia












Kymani-Cruz went on the stage and learnt some moves with the taiaha. By Wiremu 










Then the Kahurangi people sang a goodbye song and the whole school sang Ka Waiata to them. By Eva

Singing.... Room 14 style!

Room 14 are so good at packing up in the afternoons that we often have a spare couple of minutes to sing a song at the end of the day.

This week our assembly song is 'Sweet Caroline' by Neil Diamond, lots of teachers at Hampstead like this song! 

We were enjoying it so much yesterday that we started dancing, take a look at the video Miss Brown took of us...
